Terms & Conditions
Please read the Terms & Conditions carefully when proceeding with your custom helmet paintwork order from Nippy Designs.
Booking/Payment:
1.1. A non-refundable £200 deposit is required in order to book a paintwork slot with Nippy Designs. For work where the total balance is less than £200, a 50% deposit would be required.
1.2 The deposit invoice will be valid for one week from the date of invoice. Should payment be received after 7 days, your paint slot may be delayed to our next available slot.
1.3. Once paintwork is completed, the remaining balance must be paid and cleared, prior to us sending the helmet back to you.
1.4. For payment, we accept cash, cheque, bank transfer or online payment via our invoicing system.
1.5. Any helmets purchased from Nippy Designs must be paid in full, prior to paintwork commencing. This will act as your deposit.
Design:
2.1. For any logos that you require on the helmet, it is your responsibility to gain permission for use of the logo
2.2. It is your responsibility to provide the vector file/high resolution image of the logo. Should we have to use a logo from the internet, once the design/logo is signed off, Nippy Designs will take no responsibility for incorrect logos.
2.3. Our logo will be placed on all helmets painted by Nippy Designs, on the rear of the helmet and both side profiles. We reserve the right to refuse/cancel a booking, should you refuse to have our logo on the helmet, as this is our trade mark.
A refusal by you for us to include our logo, mid paintwork, would mean us painting your helmet back to white and sent back to you. Any work carried out and the costs to revert back to white will be chargeable to you.
2.4. We will not copy/replicate someone else’s design for your helmet.
2.5. Should you be using a third party to produce your design, we would require the design, including all necessary vector/jpeg files, from your designer, no later than one week from your booking slot.
Delays in receiving a completed design, could result in you missing your paintwork slot.
You would then take the next available slot.
2.6. Finished paintwork can differ slightly from a 2D rendered design/sketch due to laying out the design on a 3D object.
General:
3.1. We recommend starting with a brand new, unpainted crash helmet, as this provides the best results. We can work from a used helmet but will need to charge extra preparation fee’s, depending on it’s condition.
3.2. A chrome base is completed by a third party. This process can sometimes result in small imperfections, that is beyond our control and we cannot be held responsible for.
When preparing the helmet for this process, we ensure that all preparation is completed to the highest standard.
3.3. Due to the process involved with the chrome application, the final product can be more delicate than a helmet that has not been chromed. Therefore stone chips can cause “lifting” of the paint/chrome from the factory shell. Please note that the integrity of the helmet itself is not compromised in any way by having chrome.
3.4. The chrome process involves the entire helmet becoming mirror chrome, therefore chrome is a fixed price. Should you wish to only have a small amount of chrome within your design, the fixed price would still apply.
3.5. Take care of your painted helmet. Leaving your helmet upside down in a race/kart seat can quickly cause damage to paintwork/accessories.
3.6. Any repairs for damage caused by yourself/general race wear, would be chargeable to you and would need to be booked in for a paintwork slot, just like a full paintjob.
We may be able to fit repair work in between paintwork slots, but please be advised that on average, we take new bookings 3-4 months in advance at peak times.
